"If you see one or two of these adorable dogs in your life, your home, or your heart, please fill out an adoption application and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. Even though some of our dogs are senior, they may be with you for up to 10 years and the youngsters, up to 18 years! Adopting a new family member is a serious commitment but we are here to support you any way we can."
Lucy This little 8-week-old puppy is 5 pounds of personality. Lucy loves to be cuddled, she loves to play and she loves to complain. She’s a persnickety little one. We all laugh when she whines if a fly lands on her or if one of her sisters is touching her in their bed. She’s opinionated and busy. If there’s a play session happening, she’s in it. If there’s a human around, she wants their attention. Lucy is absolutely precious. Her mama was around 30 pounds but we expect Lucy to be much smaller. Cameron At just 4 pounds and almost 8 weeks old, Cameron's mama was a long-haired black fluffball. This is all we know about her humble beginnings in the Central Valley but we are here to create her fabulous future! We’re not sure if her ears will stay floppy but we are sure that she is solid gold and perfect in every way. Her favorite things to do are play and sleep. Her hair is medium fluff and her personality is large love-bug. Apply now to meet Cameron! Drew She is gorgeous. Named after Drew Barrymore, this sweet little girl is barely 5 pounds at 8 weeks old. Her mama was a fluffy black 30 pound dog but that’s all we know about her past. At least we get to create her future! Saved from the Central Valley, Drew came to us with her 3 of siblings. Two of the pups were twice the size and went to a different rescue. We figure the litter had two dads so Drew and her siblings will be smaller than their mom. Don’t hesitate to apply for this stunning little angel. Lolli We received a call late one evening about a young mother dog who was dying from eclampsia. This life-threatening condition is caused by a severe drop in calcium levels in the blood. She lived in a tent village near Fresno with her 5 puppies and a human who could not afford to help so we paid for Lolli to be taken to an emergency clinic where her life was saved. Unfortunately she could no longer nurse her puppies so another rescue took the pups and we took Lolli, the very next day. Her wonderful foster mom has helped this gorgeous 10 pound 2-year-old chihuahua/spaniel to mix, recover and thrive. Lolli is housebroken, leash-trained and loves to learn new things. She has lots of energy and would do best with a doggy sibling or two. At the very least, she will need a young active home where she will not be alone too much. Lolli is a gorgeous and unique little dog with a heart of solid gold. Ernie He is Ivy League. He is Olympic gold. Ernie might actually be Banksy. Ernie is Gavin Newsom level gorgeous. Ernie is John Lennon and Jane Goodall. Ernie is carbon fiber. Ernie is apple pie. 🥰 Ernie is barely an adult but he’s full grown and is 12 pounds. Hopefully we’ve conveyed how amazing he is. He’s super intelligent and eager to learn. He’ll need some basic training but it won’t take long with this gorgeous little guy! Pepé - Adoption Pending! *** No more applications, please! *** Prepare your heart. Pepé is the dreamiest little 4.5 pound sweetheart. He loves everyone and everything. It’s hard to believe he’s a senior gentleman; he loves to be in the middle of the action! We think Pepé is around 10-12 years old and he came to us as a stray from Porterville. We cannot even imagine this little guy alone on the streets but we can imagine him sleeping in your bed. Nothing but the best for this little trooper. Charming little guys like this don’t come around very often! Please note: Since posting Pepé for adoption, he has had an unexpected seizure. Kevin Our boy Kevin came to us with his BFF Tessa. They were living in a very sad situation by a river in a pen by a homeless encampment. They had very little exposure to humans and were terribly neglected. We think Kevin is around 4 years old and he is 12 pounds of personality. This little ham is learning how to live life to the fullest at LTR. He loves the other dogs, the horses, the goats, the fields, the toys, the house, the shelter, the barns and his foster mom. He basically loves everything. It’s as though he just realized life can be beautiful. It’s taking time for him to warm up to the other volunteers but he is a wonderful dog with lots of love to give. He sleeps at the foot of the bed and seems to be housebroken which is a miracle considering. He doesn’t stray and despite being terrified on arrival, he has never tried to bite. He warmed up to his foster mom in about two weeks and the bond is strong. He will bond quickly to his very lucky new home. Kevin is ready for adventure and love! Tessa Check out this most gorgeous little 7 pound girl. Tessa is super soft and will cuddle and receive kisses when held, but she’s still afraid to be picked up. She came to us with her BFF Kevin who was even more terrified upon arrival. He has since warmed up but Tessa will need some time and patience to heal from her terrifying life. Tessa and Kevin were found in a pen on the side of a river with a bunch of other sick and terrified dogs. She’s only a few years old but she’s been through a lot. Luckily she’s learning to love life. She plays well with other dogs and she loves puppies. It will take her some time to trust humans but she’s on her way and she’s well worth the wait. Bee This sweet girl has had a tough go of it so far in life but you would never know. Bee lived in a chaotic environment for most of her young life.(we think she’s 3-5 years old). Her very favorite thing is to ride in the car and her other favorite thing is to sleep under the sheets with her human. Bee is only 8 pounds but she’s quite alpha. She would do well as an only dog but we’re certain she can adjust to life with another K9 family member. Her LTR foster home has many dogs and she gets along well with almost all of them (except one!). She doesn’t fight but she likes to let them know she’s in charge. Either that or she has a crush on this one particular boy and doesn’t know how to show it. There will likely be an adjustment period with any new dogs. Or she can be the one and only love of someone’s life. This little girl is sweet as can 🐝! Bartholomew Our amazing Bartholomew came to us while he was at death’s door. He was painfully thin with severe dental disease. We could not touch his head, not even his ears, he was in so much pain. We’re not sure how old he is but we’d guess between 10-12 years (and about the same number of pounds). We neutered him and fixed his mouth. The infection was terrible but he recovered quickly and started to eat almost immediately! Now he’s a legit ranch dog! He comes out to feed the goats, horses and pig every morning and night, he plays, and then runs back to the house. Truth be told, he’s a bit arthritic and stiff so “play” and “run” are relative in this regard but he does the cutest gallop and sometimes his back end goes faster than his front end but he always manages to stay upright and he always knows where his foster mama is. Bartholomew loves to sleep in bed with his human and the other dogs, but he’s also content to sleep in a cozy bed on the floor. He can’t get up and down from the bed on his own so he will need his own “staff” for lifting, etc. Bartholomew’s transformation in our care has been nothing shy of spectacular. He is pure love inside and out. His coat went from sad and dull to shiny and vibrant. His personality has always been charming.
