Conway Twitty This handsome boy came to us from the Martinez shelter where he was picked up as a stray. He was incredibly terrified so he was a bit nippy while being captured. Now however, he is the sweetest little guy! Conway Twitty is only 5 years old and 8 pounds but he does need to gain a little weight. He loves other small dogs and he also loves our volunteers. He’s super playful and food motivated. When we carried him down to the shelter in the crate, we could hear his teeth chattering from his trembling jaw. He must have lived in fear for quite some time but those days are over for this stunning little chap. Conway is overflowing with personality and facial expressions! If you would like to adopt Conway Twitty, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .

Faith Hill We can’t imagine how this tiny 4.5 pound, 12 year old girl ended up as a stray but she somehow survived the cold dangerous streets before being picked up by animal control. Now she’s looking for a warm cozy forever home to call her own. Faith gets along well with other dogs and loves a warm cozy bed. She’s also food motivated and sweet as can be, to everyone. If you would like to adopt Faith Hill, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .

Jellybean Our little Jellybean is pretty much perfect. She's quiet, loves to cuddle, and gets along well with most dogs. She's just 9 pounds, is fully housebroken, and wants some humans of her very own to love. She deserves to be treasured. She deserves to sleep in bed with her people, and most of all, she is worthy of a forever home. Jellybean's delicate little face and giant ears will charm you in an instant, and then she will quietly and gently ask for your affection. She's so polite, it's adorable. We think she's around 2 years old. If you would like to adopt Jellybean, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .

Parker We are so in love with this little 4 year old bundle of joy. Parker loves all humans and most dogs. He’s alpha so he does not like other alpha males. He’s only 8 pounds but he will do best with female dogs or older submissive males. Parker loves toys and the company of humans but he does not have separation anxiety. He seldom barks and loves to play fetch. He does tend to guard his toys and food but he corrects quickly and always aims to please. Parker is soft like a bunny and sweet like a muffin. He’s leash trained and housebroken. He did mark all over the shelter when he first arrived but this seems to have subsided drastically since his neuter. To meet Parker is to love him. If you would like to adopt Parker, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .

Pepé - Adoption Pending! *** No more applications, please! *** Prepare your heart. Pepé is the dreamiest little 4.5 pound sweetheart. He loves everyone and everything. It’s hard to believe he’s a senior gentleman; he loves to be in the middle of the action! We think Pepé is around 10-12 years old and he came to us as a stray from Porterville. We cannot even imagine this little guy alone on the streets but we can imagine him sleeping in your bed. Nothing but the best for this little trooper. Charming little guys like this don’t come around very often! Please note: Since posting Pepé for adoption, he has had an unexpected seizure. We have only seen this happen one time, and we will be getting a medical assessment shortly. Please feel free to email us with any questions about his condition. Kevin Our boy Kevin came to us with his BFF Tessa. They were living in a very sad situation by a river in a pen by a homeless encampment. They had very little exposure to humans and were terribly neglected. We think Kevin is around 4 years old and he is 12 pounds of personality. This little ham is learning how to live life to the fullest at LTR. He loves the other dogs, the horses, the goats, the fields, the toys, the house, the shelter, the barns and his foster mom. He basically loves everything. It’s as though he just realized life can be beautiful. It’s taking time for him to warm up to the other volunteers but he is a wonderful dog with lots of love to give. He sleeps at the foot of the bed and seems to be housebroken which is a miracle considering. He doesn’t stray and despite being terrified on arrival, he has never tried to bite. He warmed up to his foster mom in about two weeks and the bond is strong. He will bond quickly to his very lucky new home. Kevin is ready for adventure and love! If you would like to adopt Kevin, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .

Tessa Check out this most gorgeous little 7 pound girl. Tessa is super soft and will cuddle and receive kisses when held, but she’s still afraid to be picked up. She came to us with her BFF Kevin who was even more terrified upon arrival. He has since warmed up but Tessa will need some time and patience to heal from her terrifying life. Tessa and Kevin were found in a pen on the side of a river with a bunch of other sick and terrified dogs. She’s only a few years old but she’s been through a lot. Luckily she’s learning to love life. She plays well with other dogs and she loves puppies. It will take her some time to trust humans but she’s on her way and she’s well worth the wait. If you would like to adopt Tessa, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .

Bee

Bee This sweet girl has had a tough go of it so far in life but you would never know. Bee lived in a chaotic environment for most of her young life.(we think she’s 3-5 years old). Her very favorite thing is to ride in the car and her other favorite thing is to sleep under the sheets with her human. Bee is only 8 pounds but she’s quite alpha. She would do well as an only dog but we’re certain she can adjust to life with another K9 family member. Her LTR foster home has many dogs and she gets along well with almost all of them (except one!). She doesn’t fight but she likes to let them know she’s in charge. Either that or she has a crush on this one particular boy and doesn’t know how to show it. There will likely be an adjustment period with any new dogs. Or she can be the one and only love of someone’s life. This little girl is sweet as can 🐝! If you would like to adopt Bee, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .

Bartholomew Our amazing Bartholomew came to us while he was at death’s door. He was painfully thin with severe dental disease. We could not touch his head, not even his ears, he was in so much pain. We’re not sure how old he is but we’d guess between 10-12 years (and about the same number of pounds). We neutered him and fixed his mouth. The infection was terrible but he recovered quickly and started to eat almost immediately! Now he’s a legit ranch dog! He comes out to feed the goats, horses and pig every morning and night, he plays, and then runs back to the house. Truth be told, he’s a bit arthritic and stiff so “play” and “run” are relative in this regard but he does the cutest gallop and sometimes his back end goes faster than his front end but he always manages to stay upright and he always knows where his foster mama is. Bartholomew loves to sleep in bed with his human and the other dogs, but he’s also content to sleep in a cozy bed on the floor. He can’t get up and down from the bed on his own so he will need his own “staff” for lifting, etc. Bartholomew’s transformation in our care has been nothing shy of spectacular. He is pure love inside and out. His coat went from sad and dull to shiny and vibrant. His personality has always been charming. If you’re looking for an older gentleman to brighten your days Bartholomew is your man. If you would like to adopt Bartholomew, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .

Cola We've named her Cola (short for Charcola), and she is currently the most entertaining dog at LTR. Cola loves to play, and takes her role as adopted mama to 5 younger puppies very seriously. She also helps with the farm chores, which we love. Cola's floppy ears bouncing around in the grass are the cutest things. It’s a miracle she’s here with us. First she was given away on Craig’s List and then kept for 4 months in a safe but isolated place where she didn’t even have a name. Cola is nervous around new people but we’re working on this and she’s improving daily. She loves our volunteers and frequent visitors and we love her back. At approximately 6 months, Cola weighs 9 pounds, so we guess she will be around 14 pounds full-grown. She’s gorgeous, intelligent and tons of fun. If you would like to adopt Cola, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .
