Taquito Our boy hails from the streets of Mexico by way of Compassion Without Borders. Taquito has been with us for almost a year and was meant to be a full-time resident with our president until we realized he does not like other male dogs. Taquito needs a quiet, warm, loving home with no other dogs or with a submissive female only. No male dogs, no exceptions. Taquito can be grumpy with them, but he has no teeth and cannot defend himself. Plus, he's a senior and he's barely 6 pounds. He has the softest paws we've ever felt and he's an absolute lovebug with people. We think he's around 12 years old but he has a lot of life and love left to share. He loves to sleep in bed with his human and he loves to sleep all day with breaks to suntan and relax outside. His favorite part of the day is when he gets into bed at night with his human. He loves to snuggle and bury himself under the sheets. Taquito deserves to be the apple of someone's eye and the best part of their day. He's housetrained so long as he's taken outside frequently and he never barks. He's a wonderful little guy and we hate to part with him but his safety comes first. If you would like to adopt Taquito, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .

Little Red Riding Hood She came to us a week and a half before writing her story here, shaking uncontrollably. Little Red Riding Hood would sit off by herself and just shake. If we slowly picked her up she was a little frozen but always gentle and sweet. Today she is 100% lapdog. She still has a lot to learn about the world, at her own pace but we know that she has only sweetness to offer, even under stress. She liked the other dogs in our shelter but would lap guard a smidge. It was noticeable to experienced eyes but never amounted to much. Little Red came from a home with 55 other dogs so she seems to appreciate a little space to cope with all of this change. She’s only about two years old so she will adapt quickly. She has already adapted to the two loving laps she has in her foster home and they are slowly introducing her to the harness and the leash. We think she will thrive in a home with a couple of people who can give her lots of time and attention. Shes only 8 pounds. The perfect size. If you would like to adopt Little Red Riding Hood, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .

Rocket His personality suits his new name. We don’t know his former name, or anything about his former life, but we know Rocket's future is bright. He is the funniest little guy. If he really is 10 years old, it’s hard to tell. He has energy for days but is also happy to lie on the couch. He loves to sleep with his humans and seems to be house trained. Rocket did some marking when he first arrived (like most intact males) but it has subsided almost completely. Maybe he’s following the lead of his new dog friends, or his neuter has altered his ways. He gets along well with the other dogs and seems to love every human he meets. He howls when his human leaves but it doesn’t last long. Rocket has so much life to live and love to give. At just 6 pounds, he will make a great errand friend and can travel anywhere with his people. If you would like to adopt Rocket, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .

Star This sweetheart came to us with her brother, scared and under-socialized. We don’t know anything about their parents or past, but we know their futures are bright. Star is still nervous about being picked up quickly, but she loves to be held and snuggled, once you slowly and gently lift her. Star loves to play with toys and other dogs and she’s very comfortable in the presence of humans. We think she’ll be around 12 pounds full grown but this is just a guess. Star would benefit from one-on-one attention in her very own loving home. If you have a way with shy dogs and you’d love to make a super special lasting bond with a very gentle soul, Star is your girl. If you would like to adopt Star, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .

Parker - Available! We are so in love with this little 4 year old bundle of joy. Parker loves all humans and most dogs. He’s alpha so he does not like other alpha males. He’s only 8 pounds but he will do best with female dogs or older submissive males. Parker loves toys and the company of humans but he does not have separation anxiety. He seldom barks and loves to play fetch. He does tend to guard his toys and food but he corrects quickly and always aims to please. Parker is soft like a bunny and sweet like a muffin. He’s leash trained and housebroken. He did mark all over the shelter when he first arrived but this seems to have subsided drastically since his neuter. To meet Parker is to love him. If you would like to adopt Parker, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .
