Phoenix - Adopted! Phoenix has a family! We imagine she’s getting to know her new doggy sibling and her parent’s home and of course the exciting backyard! We adore her new humans and we can’t wait for updates on this gorgeous little puppy girl. * * * "Nix" is the biggest and only sister to Sand and Sid (short for Sedona). She's tall and lean, built for adventure and love. At 5.5 pounds, she's in between her brothers in size. We think these pups are around 2 months old and we have no information on their parents but we guess Nix and bros will grow to be around 15 pounds. They have the sweetest personalities; they love laps. They also love to wrestle and play with very big ferocious growls. Nix and her brothers came from a homeless camp in Chowchilla. We're happy to have the opportunity to give these babies the lives they deserve. If you would like to adopt Phoenix, please first review our " Before You Adopt " page and then complete the Adoption Application which can be found here .

Mabel - Adopted! Mabel’s journey has taken a final turn in the right direction. Big thanks to the many people along the way who kept her safe, brought her to LTR and most of all, her foster mom. Now she has the chance for a wonderful and loving retirement. This deserving little girl will continue to get the care that she deserves, and the love she needs. Mabel has finally found her soft place to land. We love you Mabel! * * * This little dog is very special. Mabel is around 12 years old. Her vision is not great, her hearing is not the best either, but her spirit and heart are on point. She’s the sweetest little dog. At just 8 pounds, she’s the perfect lap warmer, bed snuggler and all around BFF. She’s recovering from malnourishment and mange but it ain’t nothin' for our gal. Mabel can walk for days; nothing can slow her down. She has lots of years to share with you and she’s excited to do it, now that she's in great health; plus she’s housebroken and loving. We cleaned her teeth and removed the bad ones so her mouth is perfect, just like her heart. 💜

Luna - Adopted! Luna is finally home. After many years and a few transitions, she’s found her soft safe place to land. Her time with us was filled with surgeries, recoveries and all around healing. Luna needed to gain weight, to rest and receive proper medical help. Thanks to her unbelievably devoted foster moms, she took all the time she needed to get better. She’s no longer in fear of starvation and isolation. She will be loved and treasured for the rest of her days. Special thanks to Monica, Helen, Cheryl and Jeanne. 💞 * * * Who would like a flawless little love-muffin? Luna is a 7 pound, 10-year old female, and you would never think she lived outside most of her life. But she and her partner Kiki (now adopted) did, and she still has nothing but love for everyone. We are looking for the finest of homes for this sweet girl. Luna had a hernia removed recently, and we will also took care of her diseased mouth. Still, after all of this previous neglect, she loves everyone and everything. We are considering Luna to be a special needs girl - she has substantial luxating patellas in her back legs and is not a candidate for long walks. She prefers to snuggle, go for rides in the car, and pretty much do whatever her humans are doing. She's an easy-going little dog with years of love to give and receive. No more being ignored outside in the cold and heat. Nope. Luna is a Trooper now.

Jackie - Adopted! Jackie is off on her wonderful new life adventure! We’re so happy she has her very own mama to love for the rest of her days. She also has some new chicken siblings! We’re grateful to have been part of Jackie’s very fortunate path from a hopeless situation to a bright exciting future. We love you Jackie! * * * We cannot say enough great things about this 7-month-old, 12-pound firecracker. She's soft, cuddly, and full of energy. Her long legs and athletic build are complemented by the most beautiful, soft, colorful hair. We love her so much! She towers above the other pups, but she's careful not to hurt them during playtime. Jackie is big enough to hike and walk for hours, but small enough to travel with her people in the car, to restaurants, parks, wherever they go. She's smart, she smiles, and she's eager to learn.

Lorenzo - Adopted! This has been a very special day. We are inspired by this little dog and this sparkling miracle. Let us tell you a beautiful story: Lorenzo survived a year on the streets all alone. Fed by many, loved by none. As he begged for food and hunted for water, he was suddenly and horribly attacked by a large and very mean dog. Kind witnesses rushed him to a veterinary clinic where a wonderful vet took Lorenzo’s case like he was a paying customer. Lorenzo had been ripped open, shoulder to shoulder. He had to be sewn back together…. twice. He sat in a kennel at the kind doc’s office for weeks. Then he came to us. He was wary of everything and had more staples across his back than we could count. He was still pretty skinny and of course he needed to be neutered. As the months rolled on, he became a happy trooper with a huge new family. Some nights he slept in the warm shelter with his friends, some nights he slept in the human bed in the house with other friends and sometimes he would sleep on his favorite fancy chair with blankets in the living room. He had to try all of these amazing new options and the choice was always his. Then a very special person came along. Lorenzo immediately trusted him and wanted to be near him so we knew it was a win. Lorenzo never gave up. And (of course!) they all lived happily after. * * * This boy has been through it, but his body and spirit cannot be broken. Little Lorenzo is a 3 year old, 10 pound chihuahua, who miraculously survived a pitbull attack. Lorenzo was living alone on the streets of Porterville for over a year, and nobody took him in until he was basically almost ripped in half. Then, finally, somebody took him to a wonderful veterinarian who repaired him, not once but twice, out of the kindness of his heart. The whole clinic fell in love with Lorenzo. His flesh was so damaged that the first repair didn’t stick so they had to go in again with more staples and more stitches. Even his journey to Little Trooper Ranch was arduous. A wonderful generous pilot named Olaf offered to fly Lorenzo up for us. But while they were en route, huge storms rolled in and Olaf had to change course to find an airport where he could land while we were driving around trying to find them. Finally we were able to rendezvous, and everyone was safe. He was a bit shy and a little broken with so many staples which have now been removed. His beautiful brown hair is growing back and he’s starting to love life. His favorite thing is to run into the house at full speed after playing outside. It seems that the novelty of a warm house has not worn off just yet. He beams with joy every time. Lorenzo is a pleasure to have around; he likes to chase mice in the shed when we feed the farm animals, and he gets along well with the dogs and humans at little Trooper Ranch. He is ready to be your soulmate.

Arnold - Adopted! Arnold has found his home! He will be adored and treasured like all dogs should be. He sure is a lucky little trooper - and look at that adorable family!. We love you Arnold! * * * At approximately 10 weeks, Arnold is still small in stature but his vibe is huge. Despite his resemblance to skunks, his puppy breath is sweet and he doesn’t eat mice. However, when he meets a toy that needs shaking, he is tough enough for the task. We think Arnold is a border terrier mix of some sort but we have no knowledge of his parents. He came with three siblings and an attitude. He’s the boss of the litter (kinda... There’s one female, so she’s the real boss but we’re not telling Arnold).

Krinkles - Adopted! Krinkles has landed in the best home possible! We’re so happy for this very special little trooper. We can’t wait to see him grow up and thrive! We love you Krinkles! * * * Named after the chips (obviously), Krinkles tends to get overlooked because his littermates have dramatic markings and Krinkles doesn't. He does however, have the cutest mustache and beard. As he ages (10 or so weeks to date), we are starting to see a white stripe on his face and his personality is second to none. He’s only 4 pounds and we don’t know anything about his parents but we guess he’ll be around 10 pounds full grown. His interests include bug chasing, playing with his friends and cuddling with humans. The bugs beg to differ but this little terrier mix is sweet as can bee.

Diego - Adopted! Diego has found his forever home! We’re so happy for this very special little puppy. He’s off to work with him mama, making this world a better place! It’s the absolute best home for Diego. * * * Soulful. Diego is soulful, soulful, soulful. He enjoys playing with his siblings, but he likes sitting on laps even more. He’s a lover not a fighter. At approximately 10 weeks of age, he’s only 4 pounds so we guess he’ll be around 10 pounds full grown. We figure he’s a terrier mixed with angel. His little black snout and guyliner will melt your heart.

Piper - Adopted! Piper is off on her very own adventure with her new family. Her parents, and extended family will lavish her with love and attention for the rest of her adorable days. We are so happy for this very special puppy. * * * This one is a thinker. Piper came with three brothers who she tolerates and humors, but she prefers to gaze peacefully at the wild turkeys in the pasture while her brothers search and destroy toys and human hands. Piper takes her role as leader seriously and she leads by example. It’s not working, though; her brothers are still insane, but she’s too stoic for their nonsense. At approximately 10 weeks of age, this gorgeous little creature is only 4 pounds so we guess she’ll be around 10 pounds full grown. Piper learned her name in two days while her brothers still don’t know theirs. Piper is special, and she’s looking for a soulmate; nothing less will do.

Luna Bichon - Adopted!! Luna has finally found her dream home. We’re not exactly sure what life was like for this girl before we met her, but we know she wasn’t properly cared for and that she spent a lot of time caged. Her teeth were worn down, broken and rotting, she had infections, and her coat was a mess but those days are over. It took a village of volunteers, pilots, drivers, veterinarians, a dental expert, groomers, fosters and fellow troopers but we did it again! We removed her rotting teeth and gave her all the medical attention needed, plus a grooming donated by Wine country Grooming. Now she spends her days gardening and cuddling with her lovely new parents. Her mom is her world; she follows and protects her everywhere she goes. We are so happy for this new little family, and especially, for Luna.
